Projects

1988- Alabama Lawyers for Life published a directory of pregnancy and adoption services, which is now available through Physicians For Life upon request at info@physiciansforlife.org

1989- Alabama Lawyers for Life became a charter member of APLC helping sponsor Carrie Gordon and submitted an amicus brief prepared by sponsor John Coleman, III in the Webster case before the U.S. Supreme Court. Contributions increased to $3,400 to fund ALAW-Life projects.

1990 & 1991- ALAW-Life assisted Carrie Gordon’s project of speaking throughout the state about abortion. Members volunteered as speakers and attended local pro-life rallies.

1993- Alabama Lawyers for Life made substantial contributions to the APLC Educational Fund and sponsored Tom Maxwell’s attendance at the National Lawyers for Life initial meeting in St. Louis.

1995- Alabama Lawyers for Life contributed $550 to Birmingham Sav-A-Life and $200 to CFS.

1996-Pro-life spots were run for two months on Birmingham Cable TV and assistance continued to the APLC Educational Fund.

1997 to present - ALAW-Life continues to make contributions to life agencies throughout Alabama in excess of $8,500. ALAW-Life’s projects to date accounted for over $18,000 in expenditures on behalf of the unborn exclusively from contributors. ALAW-Life total receipts since 1987 have totaled over $60,000, over 99% by way of donations. In January 2009, ALAW-Life distributed $2,250 to pregnancy centers in Montgomery, Huntsville, Mobile, Birmingham, and the APLC Educational Fund.
